B.O.T.S
Open source, version 0.1
B.O.T.S is a little robot that lives at the top of the screen and keeps an eye on Boite’s agents. It shows what they are doing, says when one of them is waiting for an answer, and lets you talk to them without opening Boite’s window.
- 9 tabs in the island
- 4 robots on the desktop, at most
- 2 languages, French and English
The project
- The idea
- Follow your agents without leaving what you are doing: a small pill at the top of the screen instead of one more window, which only speaks up when an agent needs you.
- In detail
- A Tauri 2 and Svelte 5 desktop plugin. Boite installs it, starts it and hands it the address of its core; B.O.T.S shares Boite’s protocol and components through a Git submodule instead of copying them. Each release publishes the Windows, macOS and Linux executables with their SHA-256 checksums, which Boite checks before starting them.
- My part
- Design and development of the plugin, from the robot and its tabs to the release builds.
What the app does
Every conversation at a glance
On hover, the island opens on every conversation running in Boite, including those on other machines, with their sub-agents.
Answer from the island
When an agent asks for a permission or has a question, the pill says so: allow, deny or answer without switching windows.
Missions and reminders
Give B.O.T.S a mission, such as checking the website’s links every weekday at 9, and it starts the conversation in Boite at that time. It also keeps reminders, timers and the to-do list.
While you were away
After a quarter of an hour away from the keyboard, the island sums up what happened: conversations waiting, finished or failed, pull request CI, reminders.
The computer at hand
On Windows: the system’s state, wallpapers (Wallpaper Engine included), a clipboard kept in memory only, apps, and the music playing with its lyrics.
